What information is needed in the application?

Only TGA permission is necessary unless the patient is under the age of 16 or is enrolled in a drug rehabilitation program, in which instance, State Health approval is indeed necessary.

What information is needed in the application?

• The TGA must approve the product.
• Prescribers who have received TGA authorisation and are treating a patient with a controlled substance (Schedule 8) for two months or longer must submit a ‘Notification’ to the NT Chief Health Officer.
• State Health permission is not necessary when registering for LGP Classic CBD 50, a Schedule 4 prescription (TGA approval only).

Who is authorised to prescribe?

Specialists can prescribe, and any Australian licenced medical practitioner with a message of approval from a Specialist can prescribe.

What information is needed in the application?

• Approval from the TGA and the State Health Department is necessary.
• GPs can prescribe, however an application must include a signed letter from a Specialist.
• State Health permission is not necessary when registering for LGP Classic CBD 50, a Schedule 4 prescription (TGA approval only).

TGA and State Health clearances are necessary unless the following conditions are met:

• The patient is above the age of 70 or is receiving palliative treatment, in which case no State Health permission is necessary.
• Please keep in mind that if the patient is not on any other S8 drugs, they could be enrolled in a 60-day trial before obtaining State Health approval.
• State Health permission is not necessary when applying for LGP Classic CBD 50, a Schedule 4 prescription (TGA approval only).
